It is tragigc ....really
The wine far too sweet For my pallette
I watch the tube And find the laughter Outside the door ... scripted... commercial...
Children ... adults... the elderly
I see only violence The pain of birth Life...death...
I hear ... I hear ... NOTHING BUT NONSENSE LIES TWISTS OF SCATTERED BITS OF TRUTH
CIVILIZATION Is a joke played on those of us ... willing to play along
After all We didnt always know the song
I offten wonder Whatever posessed us To continue singing

This is a piercing truth ... This is a screaming reality ... And this is a great philosophical poetry! Thank you! W.F.

There's a tremendous paradox between psychological and sociological survival mechanisms at work in the human condition. That you attempt to lament any of it here is slightly mad . A colossal undertaking for a poem, yet you present it with aplomb. I'm in agreement with your use of broad strokes, leaving the reader room to ask questions and ruminate on their own. Many will have no idea what you mean or what lies you speak of. S7-9 are regrettably beautiful.
