Yeah it was a blast! Im definitely looking forward to another week-long excusion next summer with the family if Im not moved back there permanently. Its incredible what you can do.. I never would have guessed on my first day that Id be running down rapids and doing roll-overs by the end of the week.

The whole roll over thing is scary to me, what if you get stuck under water and can't pull yourself out? Or do they teach you what you should do in that case?

First thing they did with us was tell us how to pull the wet-cord and swim away. It wasnt until the second day that they started teaching us other ways to get the kayak floating again. Heres a pic of my sister climbing on from the back after doing a wet-exit(pulling the cord that pulls her skirt out while she pushes out of the boat under water.) I actually did one of these as we were floating down a strong current on our fourth day of kayaking! One of the instructors picked my kayak above his head and drained all the water out while I swam along him, then I climbed inside even with the river moving. It was so exciting. The only way you could really get in trouble is if you went into a pile of rocks, which is pretty easy to avoid. Anything else you can swim out of providing you arent on an insane part of the river.

Awesome!!! What a fantastic family outing!
I went backward down Basswood Falls (boundry waters) in a canoe with my dad - total accident - thrilling, scary, you know!
