The knife is her master. Her life begins to fade. The cutting gets faster. She is slave to the blade.
If only she could Break her master’s chain, Not be misunderstood, And be rid of this pain.
The blood pours out From the cuts she has made. The pain makes her shout! She is slave to the blade.
Crimson; it drips, And stains her white skin. Her heart, it rips, She fights but can’t win.
Lost in her torment, She screams for aid. She is utterly spent. She is slave to the blade.
Cold steel is her king. Blood is its crown. Addicted to the cuts that sting. Her spirit spirals down.
If only she could see, This mess she has made. She tries in vain to be free, but she is a slave to the blade.

"crimson; it drips, and stains her white skin. her heart, it rips, she fights but cant win." .. wicked rhythm.

I really like the imagery in this piece. I also love the phrase: "She is slave to the blade" for it shows just how much you can desire to cause yourself pain and become obsessed with things and not realize it completely, how something can take over your life with one touch...

Well, I believe cutting is an addiction. That's how it felt to me. Even now, although I've stopped for just under a year, I still have cravings. I've come very close. It's easy to become obssessed and addicted to cutting.

Just like it's easy to become addicted to just about anything. Addictions can cause death very easily. I'm glad you're working on it...

I'm trying to work on it. I feel like I'm failing, though. I keep coming very close to doing it.

I really like this piece....thats how I feel about cutting...it really is an addiction and I feel like I've been 'going through withdrawls' from it since I got out of the hospital.....not many people understand that its hard to stop when you've been doing it for 4 years

Exactly. Most people just can't understand. I believe you can never understand unless you've been through ut yourself. That's what has made the difference with my new counsellor. She's actually done it and been where we are. So she can understand my withdrawl symptoms.
I was cutting for 5 years, myself.
