DOOR KEY
Before yesterday was tomorrow I looked at a bullet,
nine millimetres of shiny perfection,
A key to a door as it were, from this world and all in it.
What else so small could carry such awesome power of change,
Was I so brave to take whatever else lifes dice could throw my way,
Or did I simply lack that silly second that some less fortunates possess,
For now, at least I suspect the latter.

I agree with Sheona about the key metaphor. I've never seen such a unique piece with uses of one major metaphor, but many others within it. A good poem overall...
