The Water
The fires of night are dying down The blind ones go to the lake and drown If not for the shattered glass would you go too? This prolonged waiting is a burden on you
And I cannot see your eyes The dark of night The red sunrise It keeps me on my toes to know that blindly you stumble for the end
The smoke seeps up to block out the sun A wisp goes into your face, a felon His twisted words tear your defences A mangled heap of confidences
And I cannot peer into your mind We are not quick We’re left behind And blindly we walk, the water laps our heals, our breath runs out
The fires of night are dying down The blind ones go to the lake and drown If not for the shattered glass would you go too? Are all our deaths a burden on you?

If anyone's interested, I put this to music. Its acoustic/alternative and probably isn't in the same vein of the people that frequent this site but I thought I'd shamelessly plug my music: www.purevolume.com/themorningmarch
