So, recently i had a splurge of i don't know what and i ended up sketching this in the middle of a class that i was taking. Now of course i couldn't let my student see it so i had to be very careful. but i somehow managed to make it through the day without getting it smudged. This is a one off thing because i can't really sketch, draw or paint for shit, but i'm hoping you (real) artists can show me what a good sketch actually looks like. feel free to post your random scribbles.

I tried my hand at an old favorite I was once good at drawing, the Luna Moth, but I'm a bit disappointed. My hand is not as steady as it once was, the pencil set I have now sucks compared to my old set, and I really need to get some better quality paper. I need to look around and see if I can find my old pencils but for now I think I'll stick with a #2.

I don't normally care much for tattoos that are black words. I feel that body art should be just that, art. There are always exceptions though. 13's tat reminds me of one I did on the palm of my hand. It was a small black stylized 13 a lot like the one on his neck . I lost it, and the skin on both my hands, when I hit a small patch of sand in a turn and fell off my bike at about 50mph. I wish I had that on film. Landing on my hands I pushed myself up and over and both feet landed on the edge of the curb, taking up most of the impact. I then launched across the lawn and pitched myself head down against a wall. Not one broken bone BTW. All I lost was a pair of gloves and the skin on both hands. The bike was fine. Just a few scratches. I've thought about getting the stylized one for Pieces that reads the same looked at from either direction since I am a pieces. The one I really want is a dragon on my right arm where the open mouth head ends on the back of my hand. I'd have that one if I was self employed but the stigma that goes with tats means I'd have to be able to cover it since I'm not independently wealthy. I like the one for the elements (earth, air, fire, water) but I'd have to redraw the styling as I don't like the blocky look and feel it's hard to read as it is. Here is another I redrew; Looked at upside down it reads;

I'm still having some trouble with scale. Worked on shading with this one. I don't have the patience to do it right. I've had this vision stuck in my head since I wrote "Summer Night." Hands were always the hardest for me to draw. #2 pencil.

I intended to work on shading some more with this one but too much made it look bad. Some of it came out ok. I used the eraser way too much on this one. BTW, I figured out that the flash reflects off the graphite and makes them look different. That is why this is so dark. I'm using a low watt desk lamp but it looks like what I actually drew this way.

I intended to finish her but I can't draw hands, feet, or face at this scale. She's only 6 inches tall. Cleaned up a couple things and I did leave something that passes for a foot. I erased the face and hands. They were uuuugggly! LOL
