Aren't thoughts just thoughts And words just words? Aren't actions choices And choices originally thoughts?
We let little things into our heads Once there we let them fester and grow. We let words hurts and thoughts destroy. Once choices are made and choices taken Aren't supposed to move on?
Most of the time we don't We stay in the past and let it destroy us Until we're rocking in a corner.
Can't we move past words and thoughts. Shouldn't we forget actions and choices? We won't but it's always nice to imagine A world without hurt or pain, with friends and life everywhere

moving past our communicative capacity is a muther f*ck! 99% or perhaps 95% of communication happens without words and no matter what they always seem to fall short of the power or the point we're trying to make. Honestly it's a marvel we see eye to eye even half the time. I disagree with "forgetting actions and choices?" it's not only impossible but foolish IMO, every thing that happens is to some extent or another a manifestation of our will. We cannot sustain our own high, we are dependent upon not only every other human, but every other being. So much more than every simile or metaphor, each noun, adjective or vowel... forever to fall short of its intended mark. Pretty thought. -LMS

nice sentiment behind this...reminds me a bit of the saying "think before you speak" tho I do think its a impossible ask..people do take offence an do hold grudges either imagined or real very few who say 'sorry' actually mean it IMO

Although written very differently, this reminds me very much of a piece Aish has posted in Fight The System, and that just makes me smile.

thoughts hard to let go of just means the feelings are working anf the thoughts are too , hard to get them to work up to a point and ne further though ain't it , just fly thier own path mostly and we deal with them as the chase ahead looking for some good thoughts to kick the shit out of ,,,, We let words hurt and thoughts destroy ,,,,, true we can drop the words of others off in the shit they were meant in , but we keep our own thoughts bubbling on and on and on , well said :_)

It’s a very thought provoking write (pun intended) I agree with Aish, the ending is the best thought/part. It is this kind of thinking that promotes other thoughts that propagate into good actions. But that doesn’t mean it is clear or the right action. Our thoughts are the beginning of our actions, but in the way that we are a product of our environment, thoughts are also born of action. What are the motivations of a thought but a reaction? The original intention of a thought may be twisted with emotion and uncertain from its origination. We seldom see things as they really are, blinded as we are by beauty, desire, need, love, hate, etc,. Thoughts can turn into actions that were not intended. It’s a poor excuse that only an Ostrich has the right to claim yet we are often fraught with thoughts twisted by other thoughts. I cannot agree with forgetting our thoughts or actions either though I understand its thought of preservation of innocence. We have a responsibility to learn from them, to better ourselves through better thought and the resulting actions. What we learn inevitably influences our perception, the same perception that is the stuff thoughts are born of, this pool of experience, emotion, belief - perception. Our preconceptions get in the way. A common example that comes to mind is often told in story (I saw an example on the Beverly Hillbillies today) and results in many divorces. A man perceives a woman as beautiful, proclaims her the most beautiful he has ever seen, and goes so far as to claim undying love. He wants all the best for her and may even ask for her hand in marriage, to form a partnership with the one he loves. Yet she is not perfect, no one can be. If this proclaimed love is really lust, as it so often is, then he soon wants to change her into his own perception of perfection. Perhaps she should speak or act more refined or some other “improvement” he perceives. If I fall truly in love with something or someone then why would I ever want to change it/them? His undying love is unveiled as what it originally was, lust, and divorce is almost inevitable. At the least, feelings are hurt and resentment builds, but this was not part of the original thought at all. I’m not saying that lust cannot become love but for that to happen he still has to accept her for what/who she really is and still perceive her perfection. “Can't we move past words and thoughts.” – In what way? Our own perceptions and pains or in our communication? Yes, but in either case, be careful what you wish for. The former is putting blinders on and the latter is damned blinding.
