Nameless bedsit In a nameless street Of a nameless city Dwells the Shadow man Not exactly lifes forgotten Each an everyday Passes himself by No energy to cry, to young to die Opportunities but memories Rootless dreams fade fruitless Horizons of no go zones Will sapping community rental homes Fight it, dont try it Let your resolve dissolve Shadow man, live in peace All that your are, release Defrag both heart an head Become as one with us Nameless city Of the living dead

I know that place and I’m sure there are a million more just like it. Your excellent expression calls to mind one in Arcadia California in particular. A brick hovel on the second floor where at least the smell of trash was dulled by the smog coming off the near and noisy freeway. A 15' X 15' shambles lit by a single naked bulb hanging from the center of the room where you had to let the water quit running red with rust before filling your glass. I hated using that community shower. Living dead indeed. That water was not fit for the living.
A few nitpicks; “In a nameless street” – Shuld be “On a nameless street” And I really want to read “All that your are, release” As “Release all that you are”

Yes. An address is on the street whereas pedestrians and cars are in the street if not on the sidewalk. If it is touching the asphalt it is in the street but everything off to the sides is on the street.
Bedsit – four walls and a bed in the lowest rent districts. Nasty neighborhoods where you either belong or you should get the hell out. Where drug deals happen on every corner, every five minutes, and the cops don’t even pay any attention to anything less than “Shots fired!.” Where you see a man get mugged and stand by watching until all he has left are his pants, jacket, and bottle. So being a Good Samaritan and concerned member of the community, yah right, you help him up, brush off some of the mud on his jacket, and leave him with just his pants.
