Starting with a simple icon and thrown into a binary world
Pacified by a blue screen and sucked into an oblivion of memories or¡¦ invigorated by red letters and hustled into a sense of purpose
Seduced by grainy videos and coerced into a hollow orgasm or¡¦ drawn in by imbecile text and inspired into a fit of madness
Stalked by relentless corporations and raped into subconscious submission or¡¦ threatened by tested artifices and tricked into feeling nothing
When it began did anyone know where it would go? When it began did anyone care enough to know?
Pasted to a screen oblivious to the world looking for an answer to a question unformed the truth remains unseen and life remains on hold
Who cares what is real? for reality takes a back seat when Skinner is behind the wheel

Cool topic and I like this poem. I’m not sure the “or¡¦” thing works but I’m at a loss to suggest anything better at the moment. I'm a bit tired right now. I like your reference to Skinner too. The technology age and its psychological ramifications – we hear about this often today and there is no denying it has a huge impact. Look at what communication has done to social behavior changes as one example.
I realy like this; "When it began did anyone know where it would go? When it began did anyone care enough to know?"

Well done... Ever read choamsky? He quotes James Madison stating an answer fit the question you pose in L18 "when it began did anyone know where it would go?

I have read alot of Chomsky's linguistic writings. So I know more about him in regards to that field. He destroys behaviorism by using language as proof that it doesn't work. I have only read some of his political writings but they seem interesting.

I love the word 'Binary'. It's phonetics are so neat. A base two system- so simple it's complicated. Reiterating the other comments, I liked the use of Skinner. "Raped into subconscious submission" caught my attention. I wasn't sure if I should be offended or intrigued- and I like that not-knowing-ness. "Seduced by grainy videos" inspired The Ring imagery for me. "Drawn in by imbicile text, And inspired into a fit of madness." Trolling?
I really enjoyed this poem in all aspects, thank you for sharing and I look forward to read more of yours in the future.
