The "Holy Tree" inspired me to write this. I know my poetry is not great and it's a little rusty but i'm gonna' try any way...
The Last World Tree
The world was once a plaything for you to hold, Grasped by your tangled and aged roots of wisdom
You where the beginning, And we mortal beings will be your end
We gnaw on your roots And defile you holy name Destroy your sacred sanctuary
Now we see the error of are ways, But it's to late...
Your brilliant light is gone, Quenched by ignorant human hands
Your sacred groove now lies barren, Just like a frozen northern tundra...
I visit this darkened place, And i see hope...
A seed has been planted, And soon it shall grow
I shall hide you here, So no human hands will take you...
You shall bring back all that was taken, Your beautiful fairy lights will shine, And those lights will give us all everlasting hope...

Inspiration: Feral Nova
Just trying to get my juices going.. Nothing great, I know.
fiery fingertips burn -and cool- pale soil, once healthy.. vital, now dust grey.
small bits-- embers and flames flicker. flicker. life tunneling upwards upheaving from deep within earths core.
sensual carress tracing earths tortured skin, slowly pulling drawing on lost life, -strings at fingertips- energy surfaces in a barren landscape.

Leash... that last stanza is almost exactly where I started when I started to write about the picture.. The pain the earth must feel.. the weight of misplaced massive structures digging into her skin.. aaaahhhh. beautiful write.

Thanks hun.
It feels jumbled and spaced weird to me. Maybe cause I usually spend half an hour editing the crap out of each poem I post? This one had almost no changes. Thats pure leash on the page!

That was GREAT Phoenix. I can't get the Holy Tree out of my head. I love nature, it tends not to think to much and just does what it does naturally. I wrote this while thinking of nature mainly autumn (my favorite season) and the Holy Tree.
Autumn Queen
Beautiful face, A lite with autumns sweet glow
Leafs of all colors, Strewn in your hair Like perfectly placed ornaments to adorn
Royal Red, Golden Yellow, Deep Rustic Brown, All the colors of your autumn crown
The cool breezes blow, And the sun seems to hide, Your beauty is truly undefined...
Regal bearing, All for show, You are kindred to my soul...
When winter comes, To strike you down, No more colors to be found...
Save for one... Pure White A snowy blanket, A cold and silent tomb, Of endless desolation, Which is are doom...
But soon the sun will shine The pristine snow will melt And green things will grow again
Then you will return, To wear your crown, Endless faces of eternal seasons which i've found...

*takes a bite* you still taste like a potato even though you dont eat em any more. I like pure leash, so why hide her with a bunch of crap.

You cant eat potatoes without a little sourcream and cheese.
Mmm your imagery got my brain flowing, Val. Thanks for the inspiration.
leaves crumble and break, unable to stand up to winters cold, arid wind. lacy patterns blanket the forest; fall coming to an end, making way for the end.

I was inspire to write this by the Second coming of squek... No title yet (strange i know)...
Hand to ear, Waiting by the door, Skin so pale and cold...
Who is coming, Who is going, She is not sure, But soon she'll be knowing...
Some thing strange is on its way, Today is just not her day....
All i got for now. Maybe i can add more later when i don't have a migraine...

Hey Val that was classy - cheeky and fun. I like the way your style changed for that one - just shows how cool these challenges can be
