Not many have been able to discover the meaning behind this poem, but once you do, you could be scarred for life...
One winter's night amidst Elenore, There came a pounding at thy door, I looked upon my child with an apple core, She spoke, "Daddy, why is there blood on the floor?" I answered sincerely, "'Tis a nose bleed, nothing more." She stood there wanting more, I glared and yelled, "Go to your room, you little whore!" Tears filled my daughter's eyes as she asked, "Where is mama, is she sore?" At this I did reply, "She went to the store..." The pounding still came at thy door, As my angel and I become hardcore, But after awhile she too became a bore, Oh how I long for so much more...

I feel the word 'thy' is a little out of place in this poem, as it is referring to the wrong person. I do like this poem. And you're right...it did scare me! Very clever, though. I didn't understand until the end.

Well, Sara (Black Rainbow) and I were bored beyond hell in one our study halls, so we decided to mock The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe. She came up with something completely different from this, but somehow this came to mind. It was just a spare of the moment thing. I never intended for it to even come out half as good as it did. I might consider going back reworking through it later on...

Oh! I love that poem! Not sure I'd want to mock it...but it was obviously worth it for you!

The things you do out of boredom can not be explained. I absolutely loved Poe's works, but I felt like partially mocking one for some reason at that moment..

Poe was a wonderful poet. I've based a couple of my poems on his works (One is rather closely based). They're both in the nature section. I'm planning to write another one based on a line from on of his poems. I can't remember the poem, but the line was "where the melancholy waters lie".
