"Hope it's ok to post 'em here." - Of course it is. Awesome! That Jonny C. sketch looks like a photo. They are both incredible.

Collard pencils and chalk have always been my favorite medias. I don't think I could quite fill a milk crate with all I have but I got a lot of them short and long. I've never come close to the quality of these. These are professional quality.

Collard pencils and chalk have always been my favorite medias. I don't think I could quite fill a milk crate with all I have but I got a lot of them short and long. I've never come close to the quality of these. These are professional quality. The Uriel/human drawing was done with Faber castell pencils, which are great. For Johnny, used a mix of Faber and Derwent graphics.. wolf's carbons, too. The Derwent pencils are ok but I found the graphite too hard when i first used them, and could see it denting the paper. Had to experiment with them a lot before this drawing.. For small details, they're great because of their hardness; they keep a sharp point. Faber, for me personally, are the favourites. Only need to use two or three pencils and can still get fantastic range on depth and shading. I'm rambling, but hope it helps if you decide to try new pencils. Have you posted some of your art here?

"There are certain times when only Johnny Cash music will do for me." - I grew up on Johnny Cash so I know what you mean. He does the best version of Hurt BTW. His voice became so painful in his final days.
