I fought for freedom. I won. The winner defines what is glory and what is disgrace. - now I fight for land, money, slaves -

Good one Ris. I’ve written about how torn I am about the American Indians plight. It berthed a great nation that I have been fortunate enough to be born in but perhaps destroyed the last truly free culture on earth. My view seems to be changing as I lose my patriotism in the light of where this country now seems to be headed. The lessons of history foretold this but it should have lasted longer. Might doesn’t make right in a philosophical sense but the laws of nature tell a different tale. The sad part is that those who build these empires have/had different dreams from the reality of what they become. All the sacrifice and blood is eventually exploited for greed and power/control. It seems to be human nature that we must fall to leaders with no scruples. Why can’t we ever learn from history? Why do we so soon forget that control is an illusion? But most importantly, why are we so driven to control everything?

A true observation, Ris. You could remove both uses of "a" in L3 for a tighter reading.

No,Freedom is not! It is something that has never come to fruition. A dream or a standard an unrealistic expectation. There may have been a glimer in our very distant past... but even so the moment it was understood it was traped & thrn it was killed.

I took the first part of this piece as I naive ideal. Once the protagonist had experience, and thus disillusionment, the spoils became more apparent.

Ouroboros is my crest... and between the 2 there iz no corelation. Neither is war & freedom, as we have never had one ... but always the other.

Freedom. Slavery. Are you ready to say " that is it and that is that"? W.F.

But if you speak of freedom, and then speak of fate, where is the correlation but in futility? Freedom is only within our minds perception but then so is most everything else. Should we live in ignorance or are we better for knowing the truth? I’ve chosen the hard road but there are times I wish I could choose differently. LOL As if I ever had a choice.

Freedom is a part of slavery & slavery is a part of freedom. And one can't divide them apart. It's like a drop of pure water. W.F.

You better goddamned shake the tree and rock the boat!- you're the only one around here who does and you do it well. I've been pledged to good behavior for running people off. You have no such restrictions.
