Have you ever taken control of a dream before?

As a kid I remember being able to realize I was dreaming during nightmares. I would face my demons. I would fly. Sometimes I would even scare myself into a worse dream lol.

Ive noticed over the last few months that I can control my dreams fairly regularly in the morning if I try. It seems that it has been happening only in the morning. I did some research and found that many people consciously practice lucid dreaming, and apparently about 6-8 hours after falling asleep is the easiest time to do it, which is what I was unknowingly doing.

Ill have to re-find that info again.. Its got some tips & tricks, which I thought was pretty cool.

I also do the flying thing when chased. Last time I was chased by zombies, f*ckin' scary. Don't really control dreams though and I don't think I'd like to. I like how unpredictable they are.

At almost any time I can take control of my dreams and I almost always realize that I am dreaming but it is easier to do in the early morning. I have had several very realistic dreams where I was killed and it all seemed to really be happening, as I was shot my body was paralyzed and there was a couple seconds where I felt the pain but couldn't move. After I woke up there was still a tingly feeling and I was pretty tripped out. That was in fifth grade and I'll never forget that strange sensation. The mind is very powerful and very busy while we sleep and there are few limits on how much of the dream you can control.

Have you ever heard of hypnagogia, Jonas? Could be something similar to your experience.

Ive had a few of these.. Easily created some of the strongest emotions Ive ever had in my life.

I've had Dreams like that and worse... Have you ever got stabbed in a Dream and woke up bleeding... Well I have.

Most of My Dreams seem like my waking life, real, vivid and tangible. It's just so scary when the lines get blurred. Like when you Dream about something and sometime down the road it Happens. This also happens to me on occasion.

I wish i had Full control over my Dreams because the Nightmares i've been having lately are killing me...

This might sound super weird, but are you getting a lot more exercise than you used to?

I started taking some natural herb suppliments called ginkgo biloba a few years back.. Increases blood flow and memory among other things. I had HORRIBLE nightmares for 2 1/2 months straight. Every night. I thought I was actually going crazy by the end of it.

Im starting to think that stronger bloodflow to the brain will help with creativity, be it in the arts or in your dreams.

.. Just my personal experiences.

Eating within a few hours of bed-time can have similar effects, as can stress. Sometimes all it is is a subconscious fear, irritant, or just plain thing youve been meaning to do trying to get your attention. Fixing these problems often gets rid of the nightmares.

I had not heard of that phoenix, and it's good to know that I'm not the only one having dreams like that. I don't really consider them nightmares but they do trigger strong emotions. Any yes, I have been stabbed in a dream and it wasn't very pleasant either, but I did not wake up bleeding (thats just weird) just kidding...

peace out

Once when I was younger, I had a dream where I was being chased and shot. While this was happening, I realized I was dreaming and kept telling myself to wake up- it worked lol. I always tend to have dreams where I or someone I love is being shot. I hope something like that doesnt happen in the future.

Thanks for mentioning the blood flow issue. I have started exercising before I go to sleep and that explains alot because I have been remembering my dreams more frequently. Makes sense..

I have quite a bit, I got all hypnagogic too. Usually I'm in that midpoint when it starts, a beautiful woman walks up and starts giving me today's top stories...
